SKIPPER/HELMSMAN
Riccardo Mellina Gottardo sail since he was a child. Now he’s 26 years old, and he obtain great results during his career as a helmsman and he’s a member of “BiMare Sailing team”. He also won the F16 European Championship in 2007. He helm Bamboolina of course, but he also operated for the organization, for building mast and rigging, and he studied and realized the deck lay-out of the boat.

Roberto Baraccani is the guy that had the idea to create this bamboo skiff. He wanted to realized something that could be not only totally innovative, but also very light, strong and rigid, fast, and also beautiful. Using most advanced technologies and 3D CAD/CAM/CFD/FEM software, he could realized project, drawings, calculations, moulds, rigging… but for building the boat he used his hands, not computers.
